Edvard Kurnik asked:

Transformational leaders are very high in motivation and energy and their focus is not the short term goals, infact they are more inclined towards achieving higher goals. Here, though the leaders and followers can have different purposes in the beginning but more than often they try to fuse these purposes to pursue a much higher goal.

Transformational leaders might reflect some trait of charismatic leaders like being able to influence the people in an emotional way but they are different from charismatic leaders.

The transformational leaders display high risk taking ability. Common people hesitate to take risk as they fear failure. High risk ensures high gain; these leaders are aware of this fact so they never hesitate in taking risk.

Infact they are able to convince their followers to move ahead on his ideas, and his personal magnetism too ensures that the followers follow their leaders command.

They are excellent communicators; they are effectively able to establish a heart-to-heart relationship with their followers; the followers imbibe the message of their leaders and are able to cross that extra mile with great energy and extraordinary enthusiasm to fulfill the dreams of their leaders.

These leaders do not hesitate to recognize the efforts and contribution of their followers and are ready to appreciate them for their efforts. Transformational leaders are able to infuse a great amount of enthusiasm in their followers; their motivating gestures fill the atmosphere with lots of energy.

Their followers always appear self-confident and self-motivated. These leaders always look ahead and have a great vision; they guide their followers towards those visions. Slowly and steadily they develop a mass base; they keep their followers hooked to them by following what they preach.

They display great amount of personal integrity which makes them trustworthy. The followers start relating their own dreams with the dreams of their beloved leaders. They are very proactive and always lead from the front. They occupy the central position during their course of action and accept all the responsibilities.

These leaders are always accessible to their followers, and they are highly committed; infact their passion ignites even the young minds to follow them.

One of the negativity associated with the transformational leaders is that their energy and enthusiasm can also mislead the general masses which can be disastrous for the society.

Transformational leaders develop a vision and believe that they can transform their vision into reality but fail to analyze the efforts which would be required during the course of action.

Many of the followers who get inspired to join may soon find the vision unrealistic and unachievable; feeling cheated they would soon leave these leaders.

These leaders always want to transform the society but it’s not always possible to bring a great change in the society; this causes a lot of frustration in these leaders.

However, despite of some shortcomings everyone would agree that we are indeed indebted to these transformational leaders for making constructive changes in the society and showing people the right path.
